A bathroom sink is a small detail in the space, but a big one in how you feel about the whole bathroom. Choosing the wrong size makes the bathroom feel crowded, the wrong shape creates daily cleaning problems, and the wrong type needs frequent maintenance.

In this guide we explain how to choose the sink that suits your bathroom specifically — based on the space, the use, and your taste. And what the options are in our showroom in Riyadh.

Start from the size — this is the golden rule

The biggest mistake customers make: choosing a beautiful sink that is bigger than their bathroom. The result: a crowded bathroom, difficulty moving around, and sometimes a complete re-purchase.

These are the sizing rules by bathroom area:

Small bathroom (under 4 square metres)

A sink 45 to 55 cm wide is enough. Look for a wall-hung sink, because it leaves the floor visually open so the bathroom looks larger. A single basin only — no need to double it.

Medium bathroom (4 to 7 square metres)

A sink 60 to 80 cm wide gives a comfortable working area. A single basin is enough, but you can choose a sink with a base cabinet if you need storage for bathroom supplies.

Large bathroom (8 square metres and up)

You have freedom of choice. A double vanity 120 to 150 cm wide suits master bedrooms where two people use the bathroom at the same time. Or a wide single sink (90 to 120 cm) with a side preparation area.

Guest bathroom

Even if the bathroom is large, you usually do not need a double vanity. A single sink with a luxurious look leaves a stronger impression than a large sink crowded with details.

Choose the shape by your use

There are four main shapes in the market, each with a different use:

The wall-hung sink

Fixed directly to the wall, with the floor beneath it open. A modern look, it makes floor cleaning easier and gives a sense of space. Its only drawback: no storage underneath. Very suitable for small, modern bathrooms.

The pedestal sink

The basin rests on a marble column that reaches the floor. Classic and elegant, it hides the drain pipes behind the column. An excellent choice for classic-style bathrooms or for guest bathrooms.

The vanity sink (with a base cabinet)

Beneath the basin is a cabinet for storing bathroom supplies. Very practical for the main bathroom. The top counter comes in marble, and the cabinet in moisture-resistant wood or specially coated MDF.

The vessel sink (over-counter bowl)

The basin sits on top of the counter surface like a work of art. A luxurious, distinctive look that catches the eye the moment you enter the bathroom. Suited to anyone who wants a “star” feature in their bathroom.

Which type of marble is best for a sink?

A bathroom is an environment with constant humidity, soap, shampoo, and sometimes strong cleaners. Sensitive light-white marble (such as premium Calacatta) is not always the smartest choice.

Italian Carrara marble

The most popular for bathroom sinks. A classic white, it withstands the bathroom environment, and its price is reasonable. With annual sealing it lasts for decades.

Turkish Botticino marble

A light beige with fine veining, it hides light marks — an excellent choice for the main bathroom used daily by the family.

Emperador Beige marble

Warm tones, more acid-resistant than white, and very suitable for a bathroom used by children (it hides marks and small scratches).

Black or brown granite

Completely scratch- and stain-resistant, it hides almost everything. A dramatic look suited to dark, modern bathrooms.

High-quality porcelain

Not natural marble, but a common option. Completely acid-resistant, it comes in ready-made shapes at lower prices. Suitable for service bathrooms or staff rooms.

Tips from our experience that protect you from common mistakes

Ask for a bullnose edge if you have children

Straight, sharp edges break glass cups and sometimes cause cuts. A rounded edge is safer and more attractive visually.

Choose the tap hole with the sink, not separately

We fabricate the tap hole precisely in the workshop before installation. If you ask for it to be drilled after installation on site, it stresses the marble and it may crack. The cost difference between the two cases is large.

Pay attention to the sink height

The standard height is 82 cm. If the household is tall, it can be raised to 85–90 cm. If there are children who use the bathroom regularly, 78–80 cm is more suitable.

Seal the marble once a year

A bathroom is a humid environment. A simple seal every year keeps the marble going for decades. The cost of sealing is 100 to 200 SAR for the sink alone, and it saves thousands later.

Use a stainless drain pipe, not cheap chrome

Cheap chrome rusts after two years and leaves stains on the marble beneath it that are hard to remove. Stainless steel lasts ten years and more with no problem at all.

Practical questions

Can a marble sink be installed over an existing cabinet?

Yes, in most cases. We take the measurements of the existing cabinet and design the marble top to match it precisely. We first have to make sure the cabinet is strong enough to carry the weight of the marble (20 to 40 kg depending on the size).

How long does the installation take?

A ready-made sink: same day. A made-to-order one: 7 to 14 days from signing the order to installation on site.

What if I do not like the marble after installation?

We show you the actual slab before cutting — not a photo, but the marble itself in the showroom. Once you approve it in writing we begin fabrication. That is why negative surprises after installation are very rare.

Do you install the tap and the drain pipes?

We install the sink only. But we coordinate with the plumber to come right after us to complete the plumbing. Many customers prefer to call their own plumber — that is your right.
